Sunday Breakfast: Half a grapefruit (Doug ate the other half), some bacon, and a fried egg. The grapefruit tasted glorious. Like candy.
Sunday Lunch was a salad, very typical but very yummy. No picture because I didn't have time to make it look appealing. I was frantically getting kids to wake up from naps and getting them ready for Church. So lunch was a quick disaster of a salad.
Sunday Dinner: We went to my mom's house and she fed us the most wonderful little pot pies ever. Detox or no detox I will be eating this again. It made my taste buds do a little dance. On top of that she made an apple crumble. Detox Approved. It's in the book people. And it was like eating dessert so I was very pleased. So tasty. I left her house with Avocado oil, organic sugarless Chicken Broth, Protein powder, sun butter (sunflower seed butter), etc. She spoils me so. Sh'es also very pretty and loves the Broncos.
Monday breakfast: Acorn squash and sausage egg thingies. I had prepped these Sunday during the day so all I had to do was assemble and place an egg on top Monday morning. Mornings SUCK. I hate them. Dray is demanding and impatient, Avi needs me for my boobs, and Doug needs to get to work. So the last thing I want to do is try to put together a breakfast while everyone is hanging on me. I do that around Dinner time. Can't handle it in the morning...chaos. So I have figured out that prepping breakfast the night before means a happier morning for everyone, and our tummies. This Acorn stuff was fantastic!! I found the recipe on the Detox Pinterest page. I don't want to look it up right now but if you want it, let me know and I will get it to ya. It looks super weird and gross in the picture...sorry. BUT it is fabulous. Tasted...buttery without butter. If that makes any sense at all. Kinda like a fall morning by the fire in your mouth. ALSO, I made my mom's cocoa almond smoothie and almost cried. It was magic in a cup. Almost tasted like a wendy's frosty to me. Heaven. Glorious. Stupendous. Dray loved it all..as usual.
Monday Lunch: SALAD!! Again?? You might be thinking that. But If you had this salad dressing you would be making salads non stop too. B.L.A.E salad dressing. Here's the link again.http://backporchpaleo.com/recipes-2/on-the-side/b-l-a-e-salad-dressing/
It's like a guilt free slightly lemony ranch dressing. I LOVE IT.
Monday Dinner: Mexi Meatloaf. Recipe from the Detox Book. It was good. Pretty much tasted like all meatloaf's taste but more vegetabley. We had some green beans too because we have a lot of those in our fridge right now.
Dray could hardly wait for me to finish taking the picture, we gobbled it down. Tonight I prepped breakfast for tomorrow, clever girl. My head hurts (not because of the detox, I have a very high bun on my head and that always gives me a headache), I have some cramps, and I'm ready for bed. On to Day 9! Gasp! I can't believe it's only day 9 tomorrow...but at the same time I am so amazed I have come this far already. The days are starting to fly by. Prepping all this food is difficult sometimes, but not impossible. I feel like I'm gaining weight which is kind of annoying. But I don't feel yucky. So that's good. The weight gain is either because I am now eating all three meals in the day instead of one huge one before bed, plus way more water. OR because I'm incredibly bloated because of menstruation. Ah...to be a women. So exciting.
