Day one: Easy Breezy Beautiful....

So today was super easy actually. I kept myself busy with projects around the house and played with the kids. So there wasn't much time to think about treats or comfort foods. Until around 7:30 pm when Drayson let me know he had pooped in the bath. So after cleaning that mess up, ya, I wanted a treat. Especially cause Doug was fed a fabulous meal at the Jazz game and was having fun there with second row executive seats. Whilst I cleaned up poop and folded laundry and did dishes. Don't I deserve a treat too?? These are the jealous and evil sugar withdrawal thoughts that went through my head for about ten minutes. But then it passed. I'm a mom and I love what I do, even though it's exhausting. And I'm thrilled Doug got a fun night out with his work peeps and was able to find good food to eat while on this detox there at the Jazz game. Feeling good about tomorrow. We have yummy leftovers for lunch and more recipes to try. Oh and water....the struggle is real. I KNOW I need to drink more water. Way more water. Bleh. Working on that more tomorrow.

Here's how we ate today:

So for breakfast we had a yummy scrambled egg mixture with mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, and spinach. And some Bacon on the side.

For lunch Drayson and Avi and I had some baked chicken seasoned with some of this yummy magic mushroom seasoning my mom gave me. And no, despite what the name implies, the magic mushroom seasoning does not give you crazy hallucinations. We baked some carrot and sweet potato fries in the oven with some olive oil, a squeeze of lemon juice, and a dash of salt. We also baked up some broccoli with a little lemon and salt too. It was "delishish" as Dray would say. Avi ate it all up too. Except the broccoli. That stuff gives her mad angry gas and tummy pains. Trying to figure that out currently. **Side note: I started to feel hungry a couple hours after lunch so for a snack before dinner I had a handful of almonds and another piece of bacon and gagged down a bunch of water.

For dinner we made Mustard Glazed Chicken Thighs. Recipe from the Detox book. It was SOOOOO good! I failed to get chicken thighs with the skin on though...I think that would have tasted even better. I also didn't have any sage but I used Marjoram instead. We had a green beans as well. And the kids ate some acorn squash too. I'm just not a huge fan of acorn squash so I skipped that.
