Detox Day 6

Doug and I went grocery shopping today and filled our fridge back up with lots of meat and veggies again. I just want to take a minute here to express how blessed I am to be able to go shopping and have all kinds of good food at my finger tips and the ability to buy it so freely. I think sometimes we forget how something as simple as grocery shopping should be appreciated and to thank God for it. Sometimes it feel likes such a chore to go to the store and buy food for the week. But we should be grateful for the ease and availability of it all and appreciate it! Rant over.

It was Bunco night tonight. I was around candy but I did not partake! And I won a prize at bunco too. Fun stuff. Bunco is a fun dice game I get to go play with a fun bunch of women once a month. I always have such a fun time. It kind or recharges my batteries for a few days. Ok, on the food:

Breakfast: Today I was naughty and didn't really eat breakfast. I was incredibly grumpy this morning and didn't feel very hungry. So I ate half a green apple and called it good. BAD, I know.

Lunch: By lunch time I was very ready to eat. And we had returned from the store so I made myself a super yummy salad with my mom's famous b.l.a.e. salad dressing. I could drink this stuff guys. It was drool worthy. I may have licked my plate clean. The salad was simple enough. Lettuce, tomato, avocado, slices of chicken from last nights dinner, bacon, and some red onion. The dressing is what put it over the top.

Dinner: For dinner I whipped up some lettuce wraps. I kind of made it up as I went but took a few ideas from the detox book. It had ground beef, carrots, red onion, garlic, yellow bell pepper, and carrots. Coconut milk, garlic powder, curry powder, cinnamon, cumin, and magic mushroom seasoning. kind of a weird mish mash of stuff but it tasted good. I also tried out a biscuit recipe that I found on the Detox pinterest page. Kind of a weird side dish for lettuce wraps but whatever. You have to try these things! They were so so so good. I will be making them again for sure. It had bacon fat in it, bacon, green onions, pumpkin puree (ya....pumpkin), eggs, etc.

I don't like pumpkin but you could hardly taste it at all and they were seriously so good!

Anyway, it's late. So goodnight. Oh! Tomorrow is dinner at my mom's house.....CAN'T WAIT!!!
